GFB newsThe Board of GFB Fisheries Ltd recently met with President Kessai H Note of the Republic of the Marshall Islands to mark the establishment of our substantial new Marshall Islands fishery.

"We have been very keen to begin this kind of operation here in the Marshall Islands,” said President Note. “The local economy will benefit should this project move forward with the increase in the workforce and the capital investment being put into the project.”
President Note said that the Government will work cooperatively with the GFB to further the project.
“It is with this type of investment that will complement and assist our private sector development,” said President Note. “We do not have much land, but we do have an abundance of ocean.”
The project is being assisted by the Marshall Islands Marine Resource Authority (MIMRA) as it grows through the establishment process. Pictured are GFB Board Members with the Board of MIMRA. GFB acknowledges the contribution of MIMRA Director Glen Joseph in facilitating our project.

GFB have already stocked our initial sea cages with barramundi cod (known locally as humpback grouper) and will be introducing more sea cages containing giant grouper and black kingfish in coming months. Our sea cages are loacted adjacent to Lobikeraie Island on Majuro Atoll - a site we have dubbed "The worlds most beautiful fishery".

Product from this fishery will enter our sales program in December 2007 and will include live Barramundi Cod, live Giant Grouper and fillet Black Kingfish.
